Nissan attempted to boost their share of the Brazilian new car market with an ad showing gold-chain clad Ford engineers partying with hot women, hot tubs, champagne fountains, and the always sexy Ford Focus.

The message? Fords are overpriced because of the company’s high-living engineers.

The slide-rule set at the Glass House is apparently Brazil’s answer to greedy public school teachers, who long-ago replaced the Kardashians as the perfect symbol of vulgar, meritless wealth.

Ford doesn’t like appreciate the portrayal of their engineers as reality show stereotypes. They’re suing Nissan.

March 24, Jalopnik: When the ad first appeared in February, Ford got a court order to take it off the air. It’s now filed a suit against Nissan in Brazil, accusing the company of unfair competition and “improper brand use.” Apparently slapping around the competition with hilarious ads isn’t something Brazilian automakers have done in the past.

The thing of it is, as Jalopnik points out, this is probably the greatest Ford Focus commercial ever. Who knew a utilitarian compact like the Focus could be so fabulous?

Seriously, I want to go buy a Ford right now.
